Accessory Central Cusp in the Maxillary Second Primary Molars: A Rare Entity among the Rare
نویسندگان
چکیده
Central accessory cusp in primary molars is an extremely rare condition which is due to abnormal proliferation and folding of inner enamel epithelium during morphodifferentiation stage of tooth development. The extension of the pulp in the cuspal area is often the reason for early involvement of pulp by the caries process. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment planning is necessary to maintain the integrity of primary dental arch. This article reports such a case of central accessory cusps involving maxillary second primary molars. How to cite this article: Chandra B, Das M. Mandibular Talon Cusp Associated With Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization and Delayed Tooth Eruption
Talon cusp is an odontogenic anomaly in anterior teeth, caused by hyperactivity of enamel in morphodifferentiation stage. Talon cusp is an additional cusp with several types based on its extension and shape. It has enamel, dentin, and sometimes pulp tissue. Moreover, it can cause clinical problems such as poor aesthetic, dental caries, attrition, occlusal interferences, and periodontal di...

متن کاملA rare case of multiple talon cusps in three siblings.
Talon cusp is an uncommon anomaly, whose etiology may be disturbances in the morphodifferentiation stage. Dens in dente is also a rare anomaly that is challenging in clinic as it may cause pulp necrosis or periapical lesions due to the communication with the oral cavity. This article reports multiple talon cusps on permanent maxillary and mandibular incisors and molars in 3 siblings. A 9-year-o...
متن کاملCase Report: Permanent Maxillary First Molar with Two Roots and Two Canals: A Rare Case Report
Abstract: Human maxillary first molars are usually considered as three-rooted teeth with four root canals for the presence of a second canal in the Mesio Buccal root (MB2). In addition, lateral ramifications and apical delta of the root canal system may frequently occur, increasing the probability of leaving untreated spaces after the root canal therapy. A thorough knowledge of root canal mor...

The “Cusp of Carabelli” (COC) is a non-functioning, accessory cusp positioned on the mesiopalatal surface of permanent maxillary molars, predominately first molars and primary second molars. This supplemental cusp has been studied for several hundred years regarding size ranges, ethnic and racial distributions and genetic and/or environmental etiologies. The content of this report will explore ...
